A New Album Coming Soon

Thomas has just completed recording his latest album entitled "Getting Better". The album will contain 8 new songs, and revisit some of his favorites with a new twist. Watch the Stars Go By is being released with a smoother style. For The Longest Time and Those Eyes will include Thomas' sister, Pam on lead vocals along with him. The duet that debuted at Thomas show "Forty Years of Feelings" is also included on this album with the amazing talents of Amy McDonald joining Thomas on this crowd favorite.

About Thomas

Since 1968, when he was 5 years old, Thomas has been entertaining audiences, singing and performing a wide variety of musical styles and genres. Whether it’s a jazz standard, a southern gospel favorite, or a full-throttled rock-n-roll hit, Thomas gives his all with his 4 and a half octave range, and personal style.

Thomas began singing in his small church in Eastern Kentucky with his mother. While getting ready to sing his first solo at age 5, his mother told him to “Sing out. Your Grandpa didn’t wear his hearing aids.”

That was the beginning of Thomas’ regular performances in church. Thomas’ mother, Doris, created a trio with Thomas and his sister to create the Stafford Family Trio. They sang at any church in the area where they would get invited. Thomas and his sister would do their homework in the car while practicing a cappella with Doris at the wheel, on their way to the next revival. Doris was a master at teaching the two of them how to present themselves on stage, and how to be unflinching when the shouting and running about the sanctuary began. She would tell them that they just needed to keep on singing because it was the song that was bringing down the Spirit and making them feel so blessed.

When it came time to choose a career, Thomas’ path was clear: he would be a singer. Thomas received his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. Later he would get his teacher certification and Master Degree at the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky.

In 2002, Thomas relocated to the west coast and continued to teach and perform. It was at this time he was able to begin to release several albums of his own original music. Currently, Thomas continues to perform as often as he can, and is constantly writing and composing. He also has enjoyed and served for 34 years in education as a teacher of music, drama, and general education. He has also worked in administration in the areas of student services, principal, and special education.
